Sagamore Spirit Double Oak represents a masterful evolution of Maryland rye whiskey craftsmanship. This expression begins with four to five years of aging in high-char new American oak, followed by an innovative 18-month finishing period in toasted wave stave barrels. The increased surface area of the low-char, medium-plus-toast staves delivers sophisticated notes of caramel, toffee, hazelnut, and toasted coconut. Proofed with limestone-filtered water sourced from the distillery's 1909 spring house, Double Oak exemplifies the harmonious balance between traditional rye-making heritage and contemporary barrel innovation.
