There's rum and there's Barbancourt Rhum! It's the pure sugar cane juice that makes Rhum Barbancourt Reserve Special "Five Star" unique. It is distilled twice - like fine cognac, and aged in white French limousine. oak barrels for 8 years. To ensure freshness, sugar cane harvested from a 600-hectare plantation are delivered directly to the distillery and immediately crushed to obtain the fresh sugar cane juice. This juice is then. fermented with an exclusive Barbancourt yeast that brings out a fruity well balanced aroma. Rhum Barbancourt has been made this way ever since Dupre Barbancourt immigrated from Cognac, France over 150 years ago.
